By the Numbers

Here are some of the most startling statistics impacting Black women today. According to the American Heart Association, over 50,000 Black women die of heart disease every year. It’s our #1 killer. In cancers, breast cancer is our leading cause of death. We have a death rate that is 40% greater than our White counterparts per the American Cancer Society. Additionally, the Black materal mortality rate is 2.6 higher than that of White women. It’s impact is literally facturing our households and devastating families every day. In 2021, the CDC reported that 362 black women died a pregnancy-related death. Are you tired of hearing these kinds of statistics? We hear hear you and we are too! It’s time to get busy.
